šŸ”µ Compass Guidebook: Your True North Pt1

Estimated Read Time: 6min

Hey Success Squad!

Ever feel like you're just going through the motions, wondering what the hell you're meant to be doing with your life?

12 years ago, I was there ā€“ but way deeper in the hole.

At 33, I emerged from a drug fog that would've made Hunter S. Thompson do a double-take.

No clue what I wanted to do, the mental/emotional development of a 16-year-old, and zero direction.

But here's the wild part: That rock bottom became my launching pad.

Today, I'm writing to you from my 10-acre homestead, where I live with my beautiful family, run multiple successful businesses, and help others find their path through the chaos. Talk about a plot twist, right?

Finding Direction Isn't About Magic

Here's what I learned the hard way: finding your direction isn't about having some magical epiphany.

"Don't ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive. Because what the world needs most is more people who have come alive." - Howard Thurman

It's about recognizing what already lights you up ā€“ what puts you in that state of flow where time just... disappears. (And no, I'm not talking about the kind of time loss I used to experience in my clubbing days šŸ˜‰)

The Wake-Up Call You Might Need

Here's the truth bomb I wish someone had dropped on me back then: Your purpose isn't hiding in some far-off mystical place.

It's already showing up in those moments when you're so absorbed in something that you forget to check your phone for 3 hours straight.

For me? It hit when I realized I couldn't shut up about business strategy and community building. Even fresh out of my fog, I'd spend hours diving into marketing, personal development, and figuring out how to build something real from nothing.

Finding Your Flow (Without the 12-Year Learning Curve)

Let's fast-track your journey with three questions I learned the hard way:

  1. What activities make you lose track of time? (In a good way, not a Netflix binge way)

  2. What topics do you geek out about that make your friends' eyes glaze over?

  3. What would you do for free just because it lights you up inside?

The First Step Is Just Getting Clear

Look, you don't need to have it all figured out.

Heck, I started by teaching social media marketing because it was the only skill I had that wasn't cooking or dealing with drunk people at 2 AM.

But that first step in a clear direction? That's what changes everything.

What matters is starting to pay attention to what naturally pulls you in. That's your internal compass starting to wake up.

šŸ‘‰Tomorrow, I'm going to show you how to take inventory of what you're actually good at (even if you think it's "nothing special" right now). Trust me, you've got more to work with than you realize.

But for now, grab a notebook and start tracking those flow moments. When do you forget to eat? What makes you look up and realize it's somehow dark outside?

Those aren't just random periods of hyperfocus ā€“ they're breadcrumbs leading to your True North.
