From rock bottom to gratitude

Raw reflections on breaking cycles & building beauty

It’s Thanksgiving—a day for connection, reflection, and, most of all, gratitude.

Today, I’m taking a moment to honor the path that’s brought me here. From breaking free of addiction and chaos to building a life with purpose, I’m in awe of the blessings that surround me.

Why I’m Thankful Today:

  • For my family: Working every day to create a healthy home and break the cycles of the past.

  • For this community: Here in Bellingham, I’m constantly inspired by the love, resilience, and support you all bring to the table.

  • For the land we share: I honor the Lummi Native American stewards of this place, whose traditions and history enrich us all.

  • For growth: From mentors to spiritual practices, I’ve been blessed with guidance that fuels my journey.

And I’m especially grateful for you—for reading this, for being a part of this community, and for striving every day to better yourself and the world around you.

The truth is, if you’re here, you’ve already chosen a path of growth.

Bit by bit, you’re making your life and your world brighter.

That’s no small feat, and I’m honored to walk this path with you.

Stay grateful and keep rising,

Joshua | The Recovering Revolutionary

P.S. Being thankful doesn't mean it's all sunshine and rainbows. It means seeing the beauty in the battle. Keep fighting the good fight, warriors.
